Design complements heritage
Located in the green belt, Brookfield House is the personal residence of a prominent local estate agent. Randle White Architects obtained planning permission to extend this detached period property by 30 percent and connect it with the separate barn located to the rear of the site. Given the heritage of the house, the main objective was to introduce more space and internal functionality whilst protecting the property’s character.
The design preserved authentic features, such as traditional sash windows and lime-based mortar, and landscaping work complemented the property with an elevated south terrace and an enhanced courtyard.
